Partnerships drive education, training, and innovation in our changing world.
We're proud to partner with Dr. Anne Osano and Bowie State University to develop a shared research program investigating the diversity of endophytic symbionts in plants of traditional use in East Africa, and their associated metabolomes.
In a multi-state, multi-institution, multi-continent, and transdisciplinary project led by Dr. Osano and her colleagues, including Dr. Jiangnan Peng at Morgan State University and Dr. Sheila Okoth, University of Nairobi, we have joined forces to build collaborative, capacity-enhancing, and training opportunities for students at Bowie State, a Historically Black College / University, with the University of Arizona, a Hispanic-serving and Native American-serving MSI, to engage students in authentic research experiences that help discover how microbial symbionts may influence the metabolomic profiles of medicinal plants.
In fall 2024, we'll populate this space with protocols, products, and accomplishments of our jointly mentored trainees.
